This sacred monstrance, created and blessed by Pope St. John Paul II, was designated for Eucharistic Adoration with the specificities intention of praying for an increase in vocations and the consecrated life. This is the first time the Vocation Monstrance will visit Idaho, making it a special and rare opportunity for our parish community.
In 2004, during the Year of the Eucharist, the late Holy Father blessed only six monstrance's - one for each continent. The North American monstrance was presented to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, who entrusted it to Serra Clubs through the county to fulfill the pope's request. The Serra Club of North Idaho (serranorthidaho.org), which promotes and supports vocations to the Catholic priesthood and religious life, has arranged for this special visit.
We invite all parishioners to join us in prayer during adoration- not only for future vocations but also for the priests of the Diocese of Boise. Let us come together in faith and gratitude, responding to Pope St. John II's call to foster vocations through the power of prayer.
